SAREP PROGRESS REPORT 1990-93 A new 52-page progress report detailing
the research, competitive grants and accomplishments of UC SAREP from
1990-93 is now available free from the UC SAREP office at (916) 752-7556.
It will also be available for viewing in county extension offices throughout
the state. SAREP has funded more than 127 grants for over $2.5 million
dollars since the program was established in 1987. Jill Shore
Auburn, SAREP acting director, noted that SAREP addresses many issues
in the agriculture community, including sustainable soil management, farming
with reduced use of chemicals and greater use of biological controls,
biotechnology, and the safety of the food supply. Getting information to the
agricultural community is SAREP's primary goal. SAREP provides information
from research projects and many other sources to farmers throughout the
state. It produces print and electronic publications, videos, and workshops.
