Biodiversity in Agriculture: Domestication, Evolution, and Sustainability
Location: University of California, Davis. Program will be organized around three themes: Crop and animal domestication scenarios on Monday (15 Sept.); Processes of agricultural evolution on Tuesday (16 Sept.); and Agricultural biodiversity and sustainability: the global implications of California agriculture on Wednesday (17 Sept.) A Symposium banquet will be held on the evening of Tuesday, 16 September. Post-Symposium tours will be offered on Thursday (18 September). CSU, Chico 4th annual conference on a sustainable future. Conference presentation proposals are now being accepted--deadline for submissions: June 2, 2008. The conference provides a forum to discuss issues relevant to our region and communities. The target audience is broad but aimed at the growing number of faculty, staff, students, administrators, public officials and citizens who embrace the concept of sustainable development, who wish to work together to build sustainable communities, who believe that we can learn from one another, and who realize there are many voices and perspectives that must be heard.
